Communist Socialist Democrats Call For Trump’s Impeachment Over “Ukraine-gate”

Communist Socialist Democrats Call For Trump’s Impeachment Over “Ukraine-gate”

If it’s a day that ends in “Y,” you can bet that the Democrats and their allies in the media are going to be calling for the impeachment of President Trump.

True to form, they are.

The latest call for impeachment centers around a call that the president had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

A whistleblower inside the White House is said to have notified the intelligence community’s Inspector General, claiming to have knowledge of a phone call between Trump and the Ukrainian president. During this phone call, Trump is said to have put pressure on Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden’s role in protecting his son, Hunter Biden, from prosecution in Ukraine.

Hunter Biden served on the board of a Ukrainian company that was under investigation by the Ukrainian Attorney General.
It has been alleged that when Biden was vice president, he used his leverage as the V.P. to have the Ukrainian prosecutor fired.

On Saturday, The Wall Street Journal reported that “President Trump in a July phone call repeatedly pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden’s son, according to people familiar with the matter, urging Volodymyr Zelensky about eight times to work with Rudy Giuliani on a probe that could hamper Mr. Trump’s potential 2020 opponent.

‘He told him that he would work with [Mr. Giuliani] on Biden, and that people in Washington wanted to know if his lawyer’s assertions that Mr. Biden acted improperly as vice president were true, one of the people said Mr. Giuliani has suggested Mr. Biden’s pressure on Ukraine to fight corruption had to do with an investigation of a gas company for which his son was a director.”

The media and the congressional Democrats jumped all over The Wall Street Journal report and didn’t hesitate to call for the president’s impeachment.

Representative Pramila Jayapal of Washington said that she was ready to impeach Trump without continuing the investigation.
Apparently she doesn’t believe in due process. She doesn’t need more information; she has already deemed the president guilty and worthy of being impeached.

Jayapal said, “there is no congressional authority anymore that we are being allowed to exercise, except the one that we have not exercised yet.”

Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez took a shot at her own party for not moving quickly enough on impeachment. AOC tweeted: “at this point, the bigger national scandal isn’t the president’s lawbreaking behavior—it is the Democratic Party’s refusal to impeach him for it.”

Lost in the mainstream media’s coverage of the phone call are comments made by the Ukrainian Foreign Minister in which he says that Trump didn’t put undue pressure on the Ukrainian president.

Vadym Prystaiko said, “they can clear this up. I know what they spoke about, and I don’t think there was any coercion. There was a talk—talks can be on different topics; leaders have the right to talk about any problems they wish.”

President Trump can end this controversy by releasing the transcript of the call. However, it isn’t as easy a decision as it sounds.
The leaders of other countries might be wary of speaking honestly with Trump and future presidents due to fear of having the transcript of their call released to the press.

At the same time, Trump’s presidency might be on the line and the transcript could put the impeachment talks to bed.

Trump is talking about doing just that.

He told reporters yesterday that “we’ll make a determination about how to release it, releasing it, saying what we said…the problem is, when you’re speaking to foreign leaders, you don’t want foreign leaders to feel that they shouldn’t be speaking openly and good…You want them to be able to express themselves without knowing that not every single word is going to be going out and going out all over the world.”
It also should be noted that as of now there, have been no reports that claim the president offered Ukraine any financial assistance for investigating the Bidens.

There doesn’t appear to be a quid-pro-quo.

It is hard to take these stories seriously anymore. Every major “bombshell” story about President Trump has gone up in flames.

That being said, we should all wait until all the facts are known about what happened on that call before making a judgment either way.

The Bidens shouldn’t be given a pass either; if they did what they are being accused of, then Joe Biden should drop out of the race.

However, until we know more, everyone should just take a deep breath and relax.
