Racialism – the Left’s Own Frankenstein Monster
David Leeper

Fifty years ago, the Democrat party finally abandoned the last of its support for segregation, Jim Crow, the KKK, and other racist institutions. They turned instead to racialism.

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke is among those who understand the difference between racism and racialism. In his interviews, like the one in the video below, he correctly uses these terms.

In brief, as those terms are used below —

A racist is a person who believes there are significant differences in abilities or character among people of different races, attributes those differences directly to race, and almost always believes that his own race is somehow superior to other races.

A racialist, on the other hand, believes that racism is itself the primary driving force of events, behaviors, and outcomes in all societies. Anywhere there is a perceived injustice or inequality of outcomes, a racialist looks first to racism as the underlying cause.

Racialism is alive and well and is a long-favored tool of the Left. In fact, Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, and Eric Holder are professional racialists, deriving their power and wealth from fingering the behavior of others as racist.

Overt, old-fashioned racism is virtually gone now, and good riddance. Sadly, therefore, to maintain their power and wealth, professional racialists must re-create and even re-invent racism wherever they can. Examples show up in the news almost every week with long-used names and traditions abruptly labeled racist to garner media attention and political power.

Martin Luther King, Jr. famously preached that people should be judged by their character, not their skin color or race. Therefore most of us have presumed that race-blindness is a desirable trait and a worthy goal. But to a professional racialist, race-blindness is itself racist. So where is one to turn when a racialist calls out “racism!” without cause? Perhaps a person of good faith should call out “racialism!” with good cause.

Meanwhile, many politicians, mostly Democrats, rely on racialism as a way to generate division and resentment among Americans, expand government, and pander to a growing dependency class that they have convinced to keep voting Democrat no matter how poor the results have been.

For both political and professional racialists, black Americans who think for themselves are becoming a major problem. See especially this link for outstanding video commentaries from modern-day black activists who condemn racialist opportunism in America’s entrenched political class. See also the beautifully written and brilliantly titled Uncle Sam’s Plantation, by Star Parker.

Racialism may have served the Left well politically over the past 50 years, but as Sheriff Clarke says in the video below, it has become a kind of Frankenstein monster that is turning against its creators and practitioners. Notice for example the befuddlement of Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders when they are confronted by members of “Black Lives Matter.”

A hat tip to Sheriff Clarke for his clear understanding what racialism is and the destructive influence it is having on America.

Dleeper47 - Regarding racism, Thomas Sowell once wrote that the best advice he'd ever received was when, as a young boy, an old Jewish woman advised him simply "Don't wait for them to love you."
@dleeper47 - Sowell is the world's greatest living economic philosopher.
